Supporting our young musicians simply takes a minimum donation of $25 for a year’s membership. As a society member you will receive a quarterly newsletter with all the news of the orchestra, upcoming events, player and parent news, and lots more. Donors receive an official receipt for income tax purposes from the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra Society: Charitable registration number 11894 6995 RR0001.
Join the 300 individuals and businesses in our community who care about young people and music by joining the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra Society. Your contribution helps us make music! Donations can be made directly to the GVYO or through CanadaHelps.org. The GVYO also accept donations of publicly-traded securities. Please contact our office for details. To support the GVYO by donating through the Victoria Foundation, specify the GVYO/Stuart Knussen Endowment Fund when making your donation. Named for our founding Music Director, the GVYO/Stuart Knussen Endowment Fund was established with the Victoria Foundation in 2006, with the proceeds of a generous bequest and a matching grant from the province through the BC Arts Renaissance Fund. The purpose of the endowment fund is to help secure the long term sustainability of the orchestra. The Victoria Foundation manages the fund and grants endowment income to the GVYO semi-annually.
John Money Bursaries Fund – named in honour of our first President, these bursaries are available to players needing assistance toward payment of annual GVYO orchestra membership fees. To support bursaries, please donate directly to the GVYO and specify John Money Bursaries Fund when making your donation.
GVYO Scholarships – a number of awards have been endowed by friends of the GVYO to assist outstanding players with their musical studies.
