Summer String Camp 2013
“The coaches were fantastic and the rep awesome! Definitely coming back next year.”

The sixth annual GVYO Summer String Camp takes place July 15-20, 2013 at the School of Music, University of Victoria. GVYO Music Director Yariv Aloni - assisted by an inspiring team of Coaching Faculty and senior GVYO players - leads string players through a week of orchestral training and fun!

Here are just a few of the comments we got from participants at the end of Summer String Camp 2012:

“I liked how we worked as a team and it sounded awesome.”

“I made lots of friends and had lots of fun.”

“Definitely loved the coaches and the music!”

“I was the most inexperienced but the teachers made me feel very comfortable.”

“So much fun to play in a group this good!”

“I really liked it and learned a lot.”

The camp runs each morning, Monday through Saturday, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm.
The Festive Finale - Saturday, July 20 at 12 noon in the Phillip T. Young Recital Hall - caps off the week of orchestrated adventure!

Current and prospective GVYO members are welcome to attend, as are all interested players of violin, viola, cello and bass who play at a level comparable to Conservatory Grade 6 or higher. Spend a week working with high calibre coaches and mentors, develop your orchestral skills and experience, and be part of an awesome string orchestra!
